When your horse comes in from a solid day of playing in the pasture you may find a whole lotta burrs or thistles stuck in his mane and tail. A great way to save yourself some time is to grab the WD40. Liberally apply, wait a minute or two and you’ll have a much easier time sliding the stickers through and out of the mane and tail!
Hmmm. Always thought WD-40 was toxic? Better make sure the stuff doesn't get inside the ears, eyes and under the tail. You will be in for a very rude awakening after the horse is done stomping you into the ground.
I'd try a more natural oil, like say mineral, or vegetable, and still be careful of the eyes, ears, under tail

we use baby oil! safer and good for the hair! works well on tangled manes as well. good point chase.
Working with horses is time intensive with much of the work being done without a lot of help. Check out Top Ten Timesavers in this month's Stable Management (the link will open in a new window)!
