Updates
U Rock 'n Ride has some great members - catch up on their updates.
Haven't logged in or blogged in so long. Updates: Katelyn's moved to a private barn owned by a guy named Brad who races trotters. Shayna's been retired for months now. I've been riding a palomino QH named Annabelle, who, despite being nearly blind in one eye, is a terrific ride. Annabelle was just sold to Irene, who may let me come to her house and ride Annabelle for free! I've also been back up on Brava, who is in her mid-to-late 20s but you'd never know it. She's going to be at the W. Springfield, MA, Equine Affaire in November; she and her rider made it to the 4H finals (semifinals?). My husband and I would like to go see them, if we're not too broke because we just bought our first house!
Katelyn's bought another off-the-track Thoroughbred named Macy Gray; I can't wait to try her. Zoe, the Appaloosa pony, is being sold. That leaves Rebel, the chestnut QH gelding Katelyn's had forever. I've not ridden Rebel in a while. He's not my favorite because he requires a lot of leg and that's the weakest part of my riding.
Found out that Roseland Acres, where I used to ride, is now empty (the woman who I thought was the owner of the barn turned out to be just the widow of a man who worked for the owner, who is in Texas). Plans are in the works to turn it into a riding therapy barn. Hope the new owner can afford to make the renovations and improvements the facility so desperately needs!
As for me, my riding improves all the time. I think I have the sitting trot all figured out. Now if only I could nail those flying lead changes...
