Our mare Mercedes was due to foal in April but last night she decided to have them (twins) early. We bred her to our homozygus paint stallion so we were very excited for her to foal. Because we bred her at home we did't ultra-sound her. On all our a.i. mares we ultra-sound them several times after breeding. If they have twins we have the vet pinch one off to reduce the risk of premature birth.
 Now that she foaled premature all we can do is ask ourselves why don't we check our mare that we breed at home. We just palpate them to see if they are in foal, which she was. Well I quess from now on our breeding program will have a change in it.
 Of course they were loud colored black/white foals.Stud colts to boot.
