my trip to california

my trip to california was wonderful. i spent most of my time w/my son, jamie, his wife, heather, and their 10mo old daughter, jackie. they also have one on the way in oct. the weather there was cool and crisp by the ocean. inland was a little warmer.  to my amazement i saw no cows, or horses. the only horses i got to see were the ones on post. they had a stable on post that u could ride for an hour for like $10.o0.  to me after owning my own horse i found it kinda boring. but it was something to do. jamie was in the middle of getting on post housing when i arrived. so there was much for me to do in helping out. i tried to watch jackie but all she did was cry w/me. she started to warm up to me at the end of my trip. she even cried w/jamie after being gone for 7mos. to iraq. being in california gave my son and i a closer relashonship. we became closer together and even talked about marriage and having a child of his own. jackie is not his. but plans to adopt her soon. it also gave me a chance to get to know my daughter-in-law. she still has a lot of childish ways about her, hoping that she will grow up soon. two kids and a kid herself!  i just don't know. she is a sweet person and very polite. she loves my son very dearly. i got the impression he made a mistake. being in california also took a lot of stress off me. just being out there w/the mountains and around military personnel was great. the fresh air was pure coming off the ocean. i just love being by the ocean. it takes away so much stress and confussion i have in my head.  i could stay there forever. i took jamie to walmart to get a few things for the house that he needed  and then i took them all to the mall and spoiled the baby. good places to eat out there. all kinds of food. we had planned on going to sea world but it didn't work out because the weather didn't hold up. oh well, maybe next time. i took mosely out to the beach and he didn't really care for the sand, all he wanted to do was be picked up. i took pictures but my card keeps saying file error. so to my disappointment i have no pictures to post. i'm glad to be back in the land of cows and horses. i missed the puppies and diamond very much. but love the ocean. i'm going back in oct when the new baby arrives.

I am glad to hear you had fun! Do they know that the new baby is yet? we go to Mesquite NV every year for Superbowl & they have horseback rides. I agree it is more fun when it is yours.

Wow, sounds like you had a good time and stayed busy. I don't know what to say about the kids, pray for them. I'm proud of you and your son for serving our country, I don't have guts enough to do it. Your Hero's, I know, I know that's not why yu do it, but to me people serving our country past and present are Heros. Anyways, funny you should mention how peaceful the ocean makes you feel. I grew up with the beach in my back yard, I had to beg, borrow and you know what to get rides out to the country where the horses are. When I turned 16 and got my car, I was always with the horses. That is where I find my peace. Going into a barn in the morning and having a barn full of warm horses nickering, just makes my heart sing...lalalalalal..lol Anyways, I did like the beach because I surfed. I shreaded up some big waves and would win at local surfing contests..I guess I surfed from 9 to about 18. The other girl surfers named me blowfish because my last name is Fisher and I could blow you out of the water...long time ago that was..I prefer the country..it is peaceful and the canyons and the mountains..yea..bring it on!

Sounds like you had a great time. But as they say, there's no place like home! Give those puppies a hug for me and kiss diamond, unless she eats poo like my two. Oh my, I'm a poet and don't know it! he!he! Later Kelley - Kim

Sounds as if you had a memorable trip. Did you have as hard a time adjusting to being back as I did when I returned from FL?
