Finally Mn has a snow worth talking about and it is still coming down, wooo hoooo. I went out to bring horses in last night and just couldn't help myself but saddle up Sasha and go for a ride. The snow was just deep enough that it was a good work out but not enough to injure his muscles. I didn't take him to the arena to lunge him I just got on at the barn. He was pretty snorty at first but always stays between my legs. We went around the house towards the hay fields and of course there were 6-8 deer grazing in the deep snow. Scatter, scatter, scatter, and oh yeah hold on because as many times as Sasha has seen deer he has the same reaction run the other way! He steadied our course and we were back on track. Once the deer were gone the rest of our ride was so peaceful. We rode until way past dark but with all the snow it was just like daylight out in the fields.
I got up at 7 this morning and went out to feed and clean barn, we have our 4th Christmas today out of 6. So of course I brought in all the bays Sahsa, Frank, and Melody. Now when we go out for Christmas all the family kids are going to ride, or get pulled behind on sleds. My kids have been waiting to do this since last spring when we ran out of snow.
