Want to give your horse’s mane terrific shine? Use mayonnaise just as you would your typical horse shampoo. Be generous in the application, and rinse. You’ll find the mayo both smoothes and shines your horse’s mane.
I have no doubt, but really don't want to try Mayo. I have a feeling that it takes forever to wash out - yuk. I'm very happy with Cowboy Magic Detangler and shine. I buy the large bottle and yes - it's not cheap, but I have 4 horses, use it on (long)mane and (long)tails and the bottle lasted an entire year. Their manes and tails are beautiful, that the wind can't even resist playing with their hair.
Working with horses is time intensive with much of the work being done without a lot of help. Check out Top Ten Timesavers in this month's Stable Management (the link will open in a new window)!
