How important is it that we try to include Omega 3's and 6's into our horses' diets, as well as our own? I mean, I understand that Omega 3's, for instance, due to their anti-inflammatory(sp?) benefits is thought to help prevent arthritis in people. Since arthritis is such a common ailment in horses, as well, do you know of any research that finds a corrolation between giving horses Omega 3 supplements (like the Omega 3 treats) and a decreased number of cases of arthritis in horses? Do you, personally, believe that giving these supplements would at least push back the development of arthritis for some time?

Thanks,
Jessica

Do they help out with ulcers. Was told by many vets, to use them. They seem to work for a week, then taper off. What are your views. My pasofino is 3 weeks into the Gastro Guard, and is still off grain. Only hay and probiotic. Is there anything else I can be doing. She has lost 300 pounds. I have put 30 back on, but occasional, she gets a belly ache. No rolling, only laying down, and looking at her side. I see alot of movement in hind gut, and lots of gurgles.

Have been feeding Blue seal Course 14 to my horses for years as I was also feeding goats and sheep all the same grain. Now that I only feed horses I have recently switched to purina 100 for pleasure riding horses. My horses like it but act like they have not had their full serving . I am feeding the same amount as I did with course 14.Wondering if I should just switch back to the course 14 or is it better for them to stay on an actual horse feed.
