In the Mode to LoadWe love Stable Management.  Here's a great article on using fans in the winter, not just the summer, to keep the barn comfortable found in the current issue of Stable Management Magazine. (the link will open in a new window)

My only concern with fans in the stables is the fire potential in dry, low humidity areas. As most of us know about grain silos, it only takes one spark in a high dust environment to blow the roof off your stable, barn or silo.

Now in the example pictures shown in the article, that is the ideal stable; well lit, airy and clean, all of which significantly reduces the fire risk.

All these things need to be considered before putting in the fans.

Still some great information in there that we can all benefit from.

Hey Chase -- Good thought on the spark issue. Probably wise to turn the fans off when the barn is free of animals of the two-legged variety!

The barn in the photo is deluxe. I keep dreamin'!
